Rangamati hanging bridge

Rangamati hanging bridge has been submerged due to excessive rise in the height of the water level in Kaptai Lake over heavy rains. In the meanwhile, the 335 feet length and 7 feet width of the bridge has been submerged by three feet of water, the tourism authority said.

Rangamati Tourism Motel and Holiday Complex Manager, Light Bikash Chakma, said the height of the water of the Kaptai lake suddenly increased at the extra rate in the last few days due to heavy rains. The beautiful Hanging Bridge situated in the Rangamati tourism complex was submerged. As a result, crossing the bridge has stopped. 

He said that in the tourism season every year, the hanging bridge will earn revenue of 5-6 lakhs per month. But when the water of Kaptai Lake increased due to every rainy season, the bridge was submerged. It stays in water for at least three months. At this time the revenue of the bridge was completely closed. 

However, when the rebuilding of the bridge at a higher level could not be wished. The proposal was sent to the senior authority about the issue, said Bkash Chakma. 

It is known that, In the 1970s, the government declared Rangamati Hill District as a tourist area. After the tourism corporation, the tourist attraction is built between the two mountain ranges, with interesting Hanging Bridge in Rangamati.
